SUMMARY

Twice World Superbike Champion Colin Edward's FTR Moto GP bike from the Texas Tornado's last full season.

DESCRIPTION

  • These FTR-built bikes were used by Colin Edwards and Claudio Corti in the 2013 Moto GP season, this one being Edward's bike used in his final full season
  • Completely hand-built and originally tuned by the French-based tuning company, Akira, with an available power of over 245bhp and a weight of 157kg (with original tyres)
  • The remarkable power-to-weight ratio makes for an achievable top speed of over 325kph
  • Offered with its original Kawasaki ZX-10R engine which was fresh for its last race, currently tuned to 229hp at the rear wheel (with dyno print)
  • The engine was fresh prior to the last race of the season at Valencia and has been fully serviced and had engine management work carried out in its current ownership
  • Bought by the current owner in 2015 and has seen light use since at parade events.
  • Currently fitted with its original Brembo brakes with the carbon package pictured, it also has a set of steel discs
  • Slight variations to the original race set-up include a kit Kawasaki Superbike head and associated loom/ECU as opposed to a Magneti system which it would have originally run, removing the need for a data engineer to support running the bike at events. This package still features traction control, power maps, a pitlane limiter, anti-wheelie, launch control and an HM dash
  • Also included are the original Magneti Marelli GP loom as a spare including the original throttle bodies, Lambda sensors, motor sensors, dash loom and other associated parts
  • The seller can also offer a limited quantity of Panta Oxygenated race fuel in the sale if required
  • It would have also run Bridgestone Battlax Tyres in competition but is currently fitted with 16.5" Dunlop equivalent
  • Build breakdown:
    • FTR MGP13 Aluminium Tri-Spar chassis, fully handmade in the UK from billet and extruded aircraft alloy with fully adjustable headstock and swingarm pivot.
    • Later generation 3-hole swingarm with fully adjustable rear ride height and suspension linkage, mated to a full factory Öhlins custom TTX rear shock
    • Öhlins full factory custom built FGR forks
    • Full billet and fully adjustable fork yokes
    • MFR magnesium wheels
    • Brembo carbon fibre brakes including Brembo GP calipers fitted with titanium pistons and carbon pads (wet weather steel discs & pads included)
    • Hand made factory Akrapovič exhaust system
    • Self-supporting central mass fuel tank/seat unit
    • Bodywork is full prepreg carbon-Kevlar ultra-lightweight
    • Titanium fasteners, bolts and spindles throughout
  • A rare opportunity in itself to own an ex- Moto GP bike - even rarer to have a fully functioning and ready-to-ride bike
