DESCRIPTION
Background:
BMW launched the 2 Series range of models in November 2013, by spinning off the Coupé and Cabriolet models from the 1 Series range. The initial front-engined, rear-wheel drive offerings were followed by a 5-seat compact MPV based on a MINI chassis, which was in turn backed up by a 7-seater Gran Tourer.
The 2 Series Convertibles and Coupés utilised much of BMW’s engine portfolio, ranging from the 220 to the M235i and then the M240. A turbo-charged straight six-powered M2 Coupé topped the entire model range.
The car:
This superb 220i Sport Coupé sits resplendent in its Metallic Black Sapphire coachwork with high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim and has matching Black Dakota Leather interior and anthracite headlining, with the driver comfort package and brushed aluminium interior trim.
Offering great connection with the road, this BMW has M Sport suspension, with M Sport braking system, the M Sport Plus package and a Sport automatic transmission and Servotronic steering, all running on 18in M Double-spoke Style 661 M alloys in Ferric. There is a grey shade band on the windscreen, sun protection glass all-round and an M rear spoiler, as part of the M-Aerodynamic bodystyling. Rear parking distance control is fitted, as is a rain sensor with automatic activation for the Xenon headlights.
The highly-specced interior cossets the driver and front-seat passenger with heated Sport seats and a sliding front armrest. Linked to the BMW Professional Navigation system is the Harman Kardon hi-fi, part of the BMW Professional Media Package. Hands-free Bluetooth connectivity is taken as read, of course, along with the USB audio interface, all controlled through the Sports multi-function steering wheel.
This outstanding BMW scores 5 stars in all areas – body, trim, interior - with no paint defects or touch-up work being evident and superbly original and unmarked alloys.
It comes with a full service history, warranted mileage of just 34,500 and a fresh MOT with no advisories, valid until September 2025. The next service is also due in September 2025 or 13,000 miles, whichever comes sooner.
Two keys will come with the Coupé, along with the original owner’s handbook and wallet pack, with tool roll, BMW over-carpets and even the full factory specification paperwork and original invoice, plus pictures of the car.
