A nine-cylinder, air-cooled aero engine from 1947, used in various post-war aircraft including the Scottish Aviation Pioneer 2 and the Percival P.66 Pembroke. Mounted on a substantial frame for ease of display. To be offered without Reserve.

DESCRIPTION

Capable of producing up to 560bhp, the radial engine, post-war, was facing stiff competition from the more modern turboprop. Production of the Alvis Leonides finished in 1966. This example is a Type 503/7A and is Serial No.#20255. A stunning centrepiece for any aviation enthusiasts collection.
