SUMMARY

A last on the line 5-litre British muscle car. With low milage and brilliant all green specification, ready to be enjoyed.

DESCRIPTION

Background

1993 saw the introduction of one of Britain's fastest sports cars of the time: the TVR Griffith 500. Representing the top state of tune for the iconic Rover V8, the engine produced 340bhp in a motor car weighing just over a tonne. Paired with double wishbone suspension and a 5-speed gearbox, the top of the range Griffith would form the basis of the legendary TVR Tuscan.

The Car

The car presented here rolled off the production line in 1999, finished in Fern Green over green leather and carpet — possibly the only example in this specification. It was delivered to its first owner at the end of 1999 and has changed hands just twice since, remaining in the care of the current custodian since 2008.

The car comes with a sizable amount of paperwork, including invoices and service stamps, as well as all the original handbooks. The original book is fully stamped by the factory for the first two years, followed by a specialist in Dorset until the book was filled in 2007. The car has only received one piece of major work - the installation of an electric fan, which is documented in the paperwork.

The TVR Car Club has also examined the vehicle, deeming it to be in excellent condition. In its current state, the car does show light age-related marks, but overall the paintwork is in excellent condition with very few stone chips, while the wheels are in exceptional condition with no marks or corrosion. The interior continues this trend, with no marks or blemishes on the seats, trim, steering wheel or gear lever. The fabric section of the roof also retains its original colour and condition.

This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a true British muscle car in excellent condition, with a brilliant specification for the summer and an exhaust note to bathe in, in unison with the sunshine.
