SUMMARY
A unique car using the 1960s Mini Beach Car as inspiration now in need of completion.
DESCRIPTION
The Car:
A stalled project, with most of the major work carried out, the vendor wanted to pay homage to the 1960s Mini Beach Car, of which roughly 16 were built.
The aim was to produce a modern version based around a Mini One.
The car was sourced in fully roadworthy condition a few years ago and subsequently stripped down. The B-pillar was removed along with the doors and rear side windows. Additional steel reinforcing was introduced behind the raised sill area, along with steel upper cappings on each side connecting the inner and outer panels. New trim panels were made to replace the old door cards, along with a revised roof lining.
The car is largely reassembled and really only requires paint and final refitting of the interior and trim, much of which is loosely fitted for the purpose of taking the photos. The car starts and drives but not roadworthy.
There will no doubt be other small jobs to complete the vehicle, and the vendor would recommend some recommissioning, as it has been off the road for some time.
The car retains its original V5 but would qualify for an independent vehicle approval inspection here in the UK when complete for an updated V5 to be issued. An Ideal candidate as a promotional vehicle?
