1930s snakeskin attaché case/satchel bag personalised with both the ERA logo and B.Bira's own moniker.
DESCRIPTION
This unique attaché case was owned and used by the charismatic pre-war GP racer, Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh, better known as Prince Bira of Siam. Whilst he successfully campaigned other marques during his high-profile career, it was ERA (English Racing Automobiles) with whom he was most associated, owning (with his cousin, Prince Chula) and racing the famous pair of B-Type ERAs, 'Romulus' and 'Remus' (R2B and R5B). The case dates from around that time and has been personalised in period with both the ERA logo and the driver's own moniker, presumably to be used to carry important papers during his worldwide travels.
Believed to be python skin, this important piece has some wear commensurate with age, as one would expect, but presents well, a striking and important piece of pre-war motorsport history.

Due to venue restrictions we need to clear the auction hall immediately after the sale. All vehicles will be removed by our transport partners and taken to their secure storage facilities at your expense.
Motor Cars will be £385 plus VAT and storage is £10 plus VAT per day.
Motorcycles will be £100 plus VAT and storage is included for the first ten days.
Lifestyle lots can be collected from the venue during the auction by onsite bidders only. After the sale the items will be taken to our storage facility in Warwickshire where they can be collected, by prior arrangement, or shipped to you at your expense.
