1958 Messerschmitt Kr 200 Cabriolet

Supplied new by Kings of Oxford in 1958 (as confirmed by the original buff RF60 log book which comes with the car), this is a factory built convertible, not a later conversion like so many others.

In the last 53 years WNF 899 has had just 6 owners in total from new.

It was the subject of a complete ground up restoration by Nick Poll, the then Chairman of the Messerschmitt Owners Club - Southern region, whose instructions at the time were to restore it to totally original condition regardless of cost. All original parts were used and there is a photographic record of this restoration in the history file supplied with the car.

Records show that the car was lost sold at auction in 1991 for £7,400 to Lord Alain Levenfiche who then had the previous restorer refinish the car in Messerschmitt TG 500 colours of maroon and silver in 1998.

The current vendor acquired the car and has used it regularly on the road for the last 10 years. During this time it has had it's ignition system rewired and replaced using genuine Messerschmitt parts, and was serviced last year by a Nottingham marque specialist who fitted new tyres and a new battery at the same time.

The car comes roadworthy and apparently driving very well with a wide selection of used spares, including cables, gears, crankcase covers Dynostart etc.

In summary, a genuine and very collectable price range classic in a very affordable and rapidly appreciating sector of the market.
