Automaton Ornate Singing Bird Box by Karl Griesbaum

A fine, silver-gilt rectangular music box, decorated with various silver-mounted enamel faux jewels. The lid opens to reveal a small blue-feathered singing bird with beak rising from a pierced oval grille. The mechanism is activated by a pull button on the side. The case is stamped with Griesbaum's mark. K.G for Karl Griesbaum. In good original condition. Measuring 11cm x 7.5cm.

DESCRIPTION

The Griesbaum company was founded in 1905 in the town of Triberg, Schwarz Wald (Black Forest), Germany. Its founder Karl Griesbaum was born in 1872 and founded an automaton company specialising in songbirds.

Due to venue restrictions we need to clear the auction hall immediately after the sale. All vehicles will be removed by our transport partners and taken to their secure storage facilities at your expense.

Motor Cars will be £385 plus VAT and storage is £10 plus VAT per day.

Motorcycles will be £100 plus VAT and storage is included for the first ten days.

Lifestyle lots can be collected from the venue during the auction by onsite bidders only. After the sale the items will be taken to our storage facility in Warwickshire where they can be collected, by prior arrangement, or shipped to you at your expense.
