SUMMARY
Retailed by Leuchars & Son c.1900-1904, this exceptional, 100% complete, possibly original travelling tea set is believed to be unique and specifically commissioned for Hukin & Heath, London.
DESCRIPTION
Comprising of, on the higher level, a kettle with a delicately woven wicker covered handle and cover standing 9cm high, a matching teapot and cover, measuring 8cm high, both in heavy, silver plate. The kettle contains a tea caddy and cover incorporating paraffin burner and burner stand. The teapot contains a sugar bowl, a fine heavy glass milk flask and cover. A cleverly designed fold-out kettle support is in its own compartment. Two elegant teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs are safely secured in the fold-out doors, stamped 'H & H 2110' . The lower level contains two perfect blue and white Royal Worcester cups and saucers, both with their perfect velvet travelling support trays. The complete set is skilfully contained within a black leather-covered and royal blue velvet-lined fitted case with retailer's mark 'Leuchars & Son, London and Paris' logo in gilt lettering to the rear of the case. A graceful swing-down brass handle aids ease of carrying and a simple brass catch allows access to the interior.
Dimensions: case 29cm wide, 19cm high, 15.5cm deep.

Lifestyle lots can be collected from the venue during the auction by onsite bidders only. After the sale the items will be taken to our storage facility in Warwickshire where they can be collected, by prior arrangement, or shipped to you at your expense.
